About
The ACCESS COSIMA & Cryosphere Community Workshop will be held in Nipaluna/Hobart on 16–20 November, 2026.
The workshop is supported by Australia’s climate simulator (ACCESS-NRI), and co-organised by the COSIMA and Cryospheric Sciences Community Working Groups. This webpage will be regularly updated in the lead-up to the event.
Aims
This workshop aims to facilitate community connection and genuine collaboration between the cryospheric sciences and ocean/sea ice modelling and observational communities, by:
- building shared knowledge, tools, and workflows, and identifying common scientific questions and goals
- providing a forum that is inclusive and welcoming for all, especially students and early career researchers
- hosting a range of activities including scientific talks, posters, hackathons, and working group meetings.
Key dates
The key dates for the ACCESS COSIMA & Cryosphere Community Workshop are:
- Late June: Abstract submissions open
- July: Registrations open
- August: Abstract submissions close
- September: Final program available
- Early November: Registrations close
