Visualising uncharted climate futures: Pacific warming trends

How are sea surface temperatures in the tropical Pacific ocean changing, and what can we expect in the future?

This video outlines research that compares the subtle differences between observed and modelled ocean warming patterns, and the implications of these trends for Australia.

It is a visual collaboration between Australia’s climate simulator (ACCESS-NRI), the National Environmental Science Program (NESP Climate Science Hub), and the Bureau of Meteorology.

A visual expedition to Antarctica’s past and a clue to its future

This video, narrated by researcher Ed Doddridge, showcases a visualisation created by ACCESS-NRI Owen Kaluza. As Antarctic sea ice appears to have shifted to a different state of lower coverage, this video allows us to look into Antarctica 120 years ago and compare it with Antarctica today. An insightful view of how alarming the loss of sea-ice is for the whole planet.
