Welcome to our new Board Deputy Chair, Fiona David

Fiona David, has been appointed Deputy Chair of the ACCESS-NRI Board. Fiona is a globally renowned executive, board member and thought leader in the field of systemic change and social policy reform. A lawyer, researcher and human rights practitioner, Fiona draws on decades of front-line experience working in locations as diverse as Libya and Lebanon, to advise Foundations, corporations and not for profits on how to achieve social impact.

As the former Chair of Research for Minderoo Foundation, Fiona has been involved in building and governing numerous large, multi-stakeholder research projects. Career highlights include: creating the Global Slavery Index, which today is recognised as the leading authority on scale and nature of modern slavery globally; and brokering the research collaboration that enabled data sharing and joint research on the UN Global Estimates of Modern Slavery, which measure progress on the Sustainable Development Goal on forced labour. Today, as CEO and Founder of Fair Futures, Fiona works with business to integrate human rights into sustainability strategy and practice.

Fiona holds a number of board and advisory roles including Trustee/Director of The Coolaroo Foundation, Alternate for Nicola Forrest on the Forrest Research Foundation Board of Governors, and the Australian Advisory Council of Talent Beyond Borders. She is a Member of Chief Executive Women, and a member of their Leadership Development Committee.
