Vassili Kitsios

Dr Vassili Kitsios is a Senior Research Scientist at the CSIRO. In this role he has undertaken research on the development of data assimilation methods for improved climate state / parameter estimation and ensemble forecasting. His most recent research involves the application of machine learning for climate emulation, and quantifying the influence of climate on agriculture, commodity markets, health indicators, and conflict / social unrest.

He graduated from the University of Melbourne & Université de Poitiers (France) in 2010 from a , Cotutelle PhD in Theoretical & Computational Fluid Dynamics entitled “Recovery of fluid mechanical modes in unsteady separated flows”.
