About the event
Next week, Pawsey is hosting Dr. Thomas Zwinger, a senior application scientist at CSC – IT Center for Science and an adjunct professor at the Department of Physics at Helsinki University. Dr. Zwinger, the developer of Elmer, will stop by Pawsey on his way to Tasmania to deliver a training session on Elmer, an open-source software developed at CSC that has proven especially useful for researchers working on Ice Sheet Modelling.
We are currently working to deploy Elmer on Setonix, making it accessible to Australian researchers. Elmer is a scientific software tool designed to simulate and analyse complex physical processes. What makes it particularly valuable is its ability to integrate multiple physics domains, such as fluid dynamics, material deformation, and heat transfer, into a single simulation.
