ACCESS Community Workshop 2025: Oral presentations and Poster Guidelines

Interested in presenting at the workshop?

The Program Committee will select submitted abstracts that form a balanced program that we hope will excite and engage all those attending the Workshop.

We welcome talks and posters that focus on scientific and technical areas related to ACCESS use, including output use, model development and model and data integration, spanning themes across the range of  research and modelling taking place in the community.

Submit an abstract by midnight on Sunday 15 June, 2025 (AEST) here

In the form, you will be asked for a title and a 200 words (max) abstract, so we recommend to have these available to copy when you are ready to submit the form.

  • Ensure that your abstract is grammatically correct and free of other errors.
  • Abstracts should NOT contain references, tables, or figures.
  • Accepted abstracts will appear exactly as submitted.

PRESENTATION TYPES

The Program Committee aims to create a program with a mix of the following presentation types:

  • Plenary talks at the main Workshop (Wed/Thu)
  • Parallel sessions talks (10+ minutes) - at the main Workshop (Wed/Thu)
  • Posters (+lightning talk 1-2 min) – at the Main Workshop or during the Community Working Group meetings (Wed-Fri)
  • Talks (10+ minutes) at one of the Community Working Groups Meetings (Friday)
  • Discussions (1 hour) sessions at the main Workshop (Wed/Thu)

All abstracts submitted before the deadline will undergo review. The program committee will prioritise scientific or technical talks that would be of interest to the broader community. There will be a restriction of one presentation per participant.

Oral Presentations

If you would like to be considered for a talk, you must submit the title and abstract on the abstract submission form before midnight 15 June. These talks will be located as plenary talks (Wed/Thu), in one of the parallel discussion sessions (Wed/Thu) or as part of one of the Community Working Group meetings (Friday). The program committee will prioritise scientific or technical talks that would be of interest to the broader community.

Oral presentation abstracts are limited to a maximum of 200 words.

Poster Display

We are welcoming poster submissions. You need to submit an abstract for all poster submission, which will include a 1 min lightning presentation during one of the parallel sessions.

Lightning talk presentations will be 1 minute in length for a single presentation slide. Creativity is encouraged, and there will be prizes for Most Creative Lightning Talks. The idea of the lightning talks is to introduce your poster in a 1 minute 1 slide presentation, to encourage longer discussions in front of your poster during the poster sessions.

The poster must not exceed the size of A0 (1189-841mm) and be brought along to the Workshop for display. Portrait format is preferred to landscape, as our poster boards are slightly smaller than A0 landscape. All posters will be displayed for the duration of the Workshop. Poster presenters are required to attend the poster sessions.

Please note: we cannot guarantee all submission preferences will be met. While we strive to fulfill as many preferences as possible, limited speaking opportunities are available. Some requests for talks may need to be allocated poster / lightning presentations. We thank you for your understanding.
