Dr. Claire Vincent

Dr Claire Vincent is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Geography, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and a CI in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes. Her research interests include tropical variability, extreme rainfall and wind energy meteorology.

She has worked on problems including heavy tropical rainfall in the Maritime Continent, high-resolution modelling of tropical islands, wind variability over the North Sea and wind power forecasting in southeast Australia. Dr Vincent completed her PhD in 2011 at the Technical University of Denmark, and between 2011 and 2014 worked at DTU Wind Energy, Denmark. She joined the University of Melbourne in 2011 as a post-doctoral research fellow, before taking up a research and teaching role in 2018.
