Abstract submission guidelines – ACCESS Community Workshop 2025
These guidelines are for all abstract submissions for the ACCESS Community Workshop 2025 including: 10 min talks during the main Workshop days (Wed-Thu) 10 min talks during the Community Working Group meetings (Fri) or poster submissions +1 min Lightning talks (Wed-Fri).
Abstract submissions for the 10 min talks have closed but Poster submissions still open until the 20 July.
Follow the guidelines below to create your 200 words abstract. Once your abstract is ready to go, please copy the text and paste it in question 9 of the Abstract submission form.
Author Information: if there are several authors, please include their full name(s), and institutional affiliation(s)
ABSTRACT BODY (200 words, excluding authors’ information and other guidelines related words)
1. Introduction and scientific context – Why did you do what you did?
2. Methodology/project summary – What were the main activities you undertook? This could include model development, new model runs, analysis of existing output, observational studies and more.
3. Results – What are the main results of interest to the wider community? This could be science findings, model evaluation, model development etc.
4. Audience – Who do you think this talk will mostly be of interest to?

HYPOTHETICAL EXAMPLE
- Tall penguins (Goliath sp.) are exhibiting changes in their habitat and snacks. Therefore, their location is expected to change, but the patterns of such change have not been investigated yet.
- We estimated the locations of penguins in the model using machine learning, and analysed how penguin density might change in future scenarios.
OR
We coupled a Penguin Component (PG) to the physical model X, this allowed us to predict penguin colonies density changes. - We determined that the density of penguins is going to change dramatically due to changes in sea temperature and its effects on food availability.
OR
Our penguin density predictions didn’t align with known literature on the location of penguins, indicating the need for further work on penguin dynamics - Biologists, climate response analysts and people making movies about penguins.
- penguins, Penguin Component (PG), model development, machine learning, model X
