Dr. Ezhilsabareesh Kannadasan

Ezhil is a Senior Research Software Engineer in the Ocean model development team with a background in computational fluid dynamics and high-performance computing. His work focuses on developing and coupling ocean, sea-ice, and wave models within the ACCESS-OM3 framework, contributing to improved modelling.

Ezhil’s favorite part of his career lies in tackling intricate challenges within ocean modelling and climate science. He finds immense satisfaction in contributing to the development of models that simulate oceanic, sea-ice, and wave interactions. Collaborating with diverse teams and witnessing their combined efforts deepen our understanding of climate dynamics truly fulfills him.

Ezhil completed his PhD at Monash University in 2023 with a dissertation titled “Spectral Energy Cascade and Scale Interaction Analysis in a Spatially Evolving Turbulent Channel Flow.”

Outside work, Ezhil finds joy in learning Indian vocal classical music and mastering the piano.
