Sven Buder (he/him)
Research Software Engineer, Australian National University

Sven is member of the Model Evaluation and Diagnostics (MED) team and brings the outsider-perspective for creating user-friendly documentation of MED and ACCESS-NRI. With a background as data scientist for large astronomical collaborations, he is highly experienced in the exploration of large data sets and documentation for research communities. Sven’s favorite aspect of his work is to work together with enthusiastic and diverse teams from different backgrounds to tackle complex challenges like our climate crisis. Outside of work, Sven likes to do all kinds of sport (triathlons, bouldering, soccer, and netball at the moment) and the great Australian way of indulging delicious brunch or burgers afterwards.
Sven obtained a PhD in astrophysics from the University of Heidelberg (Germany) in 2019 entitled “Spectroscopic Analysis and Chemodynamic Exploration of the Milky Way with Million-Star Surveys”. Sven is currently on a secondment to ACCESS-NRI from the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the Australian National University.
