Martin Dix
Associate Director, Model Development, CSIRO and ANU
Martin is the ACCESS-NRI Associate Director for Model Development.
Martin Dix has wide experience in many aspects of climate modelling. He has worked extensively on the development and application of the series of CSIRO climate models from CSIRO Mk1, Mk2, CCAM and through to the current ACCESS-CM2. Simulations with these models have contributed to several Coupled Model Intercomparison Projects (CMIP) and to the work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
For the last decade, Martin has played a major role in the adoption of the Met Office UM as the atmospheric component of both the ACCESS climate model and ACCESS Numerical Weather Prediction Systems, collaborating with the Bureau of Meteorology, the Met Office and the Australian University climate research community.
Martin’s main research interests are climate feedback processes and the numerical and computational aspects of climate modelling.
