Dr. Marc White
Senior Research Software Engineer

Marc is a Senior Software Specialist at the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics and is on secondment at ACCESS-NRI to help with projects relating to data access and organisation. Marc enjoys learning new software tools and techniques and applying them to solve technical problems.
Marc moved to Canberra to complete his PhD in Astronomy & Astrophysics at ANU and began working on astronomy survey projects before moving into the world of software for astronomy.
Marc has a Bachelor of Science (Hons, 1st Class) Physics (UWA, 2008), and a PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics (ANU, 2014) Outflows from Young Stellar Objects: The Case of DG Tauri. He was also a Fogarty Foundation Scholar, and Joan Duffield Postgraduate Scholar.
Outside of work Marc likes to keep fit, loves to cook, and spend an inordinate amount of time playing, refereeing, and organising the sport of floorball (think ice hockey without the ice or the violence). He also has a greyhound named Ari who demands frequent attention!
