Aidan Heerdegen (he/him)

Aidan is the Leader of the ACCESS-NRI Model Release Team, which provides infrastructure to build, test, release and curate ACCESS Models for the Australian Research Community.

Aidan’s favourite aspect of his work is contributing to excellent and meaningful research that has a positive impact on society. In particular by developing new and improved tools to improve researchers’ productivity.

He obtained a PhD from the Research School of Chemistry at ANU in 2000 entitled “Diffuse X-ray scattering from an optically anomalous material – 1,5-dichloro-2,3-dinitrobenzene”, and has previously worked in computational climate modelling support for two ARC Centres of Excellence.

Outside work, Aidan enjoys baking bread, gardening, cooking, biking and hiking, and sharing in these activities with his family and friends.
