The Research Software Engineer (Visualisation Specialist) will work collaboratively with the climate and Earth system modelling community to implement tools and workflows for the visualisation of ACCESS-NRI models outputs, utilising high-performance computing and big-data approaches for the benefit of the Australian research community. Our visualisation needs are broad and range from simple reporting of metrics using 2D plots to complex 4D simulations. This will require manipulating and transforming large amounts of model output and data. The position is an outstanding opportunity to extend and broaden your career. We encourage candidates with scientific and/or strong programming background.

You will be working in a small team, so it is essential that you are able to work with others, contribute to varied projects as needed, and be able to balance ongoing maintenance and support with scoping and delivery of new projects and other longer-term deliverables. If this sounds like you, and you are excited to support innovative research and play an active role in making a difference in the world, then please get in touch to find out more about the position.
